Right after Scott’s younger brother, Brian, was born two years later, his family moved to Phoenix, Arizona, where they lived for one year. The next year of Scott’s life was spent in Akron, Ohio, which concluded his formal years of living in the States for a very long time. In June of 1977, Scott and his family arrived at the airport of Sola, Norway, where Scott was to spend the next ten years of his life. Scott made several trips back to the States during this decade, but the vast majority of his childhood and early teenage years were spent in this Scandinavian country. This is where Scott’s two younger sisters were born and where a Norwegian eighteen-year-old girl, by the name of Åse (Ginger) Jacobsen, came to be his older foster sister. When he was fourteen years old, he was responsible of taking care of his younger brother and sisters as they flew back to the States, all by themselves. On July 27, 1987, they arrived at the Miami airport in Florida, where Scott and his family spent the next nine months. Scott and his family moved back to Monterrey, Mexico, in March of 1988, and have lived there ever since. However, Scott left Monterrey in June of 1991 and lived in Kansas City, Missouri, until he returned on May 11 of 1992. Scott and Gloria were engaged in September of 1992 and on August 6, 1993, they were married. After spending their honeymoon in Oregon, where his grandparents celebrated their 50th Anniversary, two weeks later they moved to Acapulco, Mexico. Scott was twenty years old when he got married and took over the Acapulco Baptist Church. Acapulco was to become the home of Scott and Gloria for the next six years. This is where their first son, William Scott Brown, was born. Scott and Gloria were approved in September of 1999 as BBFI missionaries and one month later Erik was born in Monterrey. Scott and his family are presently spending the next two years traveling all through the States on Deputation, trying to raise support for their work in Acapulco, Mexico. |
